The PINKest of all trailers!!!

Pink Trailer from Jacob Kirby on Vimeo.

The trailer was cut by the multi-talented Jacob Kirby (who was also our first AD, on-set DIT, and pinch hitter with the boom mic). I'd like to blame all the inappropriate stuff in this movie on our uber-talented, wildly improvising actors, but some of it's definitely on me. Be forewarned.

Bored in Minnesota?

A month from now, PINK will be be playing the Angaelica Film Festival in Duluth, Minnesota (October 9 - 13). This year the festival's happening in partnership with the Catalyst Content Festival, and we reckon it'll be a rollicking good time.

So if you're in Minnesota (or thereabouts) in early October - PINK it up!

PINK will be playing CUCALORUS 2018!

We're super excited to be playing Cucalorus in November. Writer/Producer Josh Barkey has had two shorts screen at Cucalorus, and can confirm that it's an amazing good time.

From the Cucalorus website:
Voted "One of the Coolest Film Festivals in the World" (MovieMaker Magazine 2013, 2014, 2015), and "50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee" (MovieMaker Magazine 2015, 2016, 2017), Cucalorus creates an opportunity for intimate engagement between audience and artist through the festival’s retreat-like atmosphere, resulting in friendships that extend far beyond the festival’s 5-day celebration.

The movie, she is completed!

Break out the pink champagne, PINK is finally finished!

It was a long, long haul and there are so many people to thank: the family members and friends who loaned us their spaces and their cash so we could set the ball in motion, the cast and crew for their hard work in getting it in the can, the post-production team for rolling the ball (can?) on down the hill, and YOU for supporting us along the way. Thanks, you!

Now we're off to the festivals... fingers crossed!

PINK finds its sound...

There are many, many feature films out there that were shot but never completed because the filmmakers underestimated the difficulty of bringing it home. This is understandable, as every completed feature film is a minor miracle. We've certainly done our share of underestimating as we've labored over our first miracle, but we are nearly there.

Color grading and special effects are nearly completed, and we're especially happy to announce that we've added Joe Miller of SoundsLikeJoe to the project. Joe's been working for the past month on our sound engineering / mixing, and is also doing the scoring for the film. Joe is a South Carolina local who really "gets" the sort of film PINK wants to be.

Sound is the often underappreciated emotional center of a film and from what we've heard already, Joe is really delivering us a gut-punch. Check out HIS WEBSITE, and get stoked for PINK's completion in the next few months.

And... We Have Picture Lock!

'O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' He chortled in his joy.

As of two days ago, PINK finally has a locked picture. That means (for the uninitiated) that all the little visual bits are in the place they've been destined to be for all eternity. There's still a lot left to do: sound design, scoring, some visual effects, color grading, etc... but the lion's share of the work is finished, and we're going to be working our tails off to get the movie finished by the end of June.
